SPOILER ALERT: Do not read on unless you’ve watched the Celebrity Big Brother Season 1 finale
Celebrity Big Brother crowned the show’s first-ever winner during Sunday night’s finale on Global.
Marissa Jaret Winokur, Ross Matthews, Ariadna Gutiérrez, Mark McGrath and Omarosa Manigault-Newman were left in the competition, but only one celebrity could survive eviction and be crowned champion, while another was voted as America’s Favourite Houseguest by viewers.
Winokur was crowned as the winner of Celebrity Big Brother by a jury of former housemates, defeating Matthews in the final two to claim the US$250,000 prize.

Three other houseguests, Gutiérrez, McGrath and Newman made it to finale night but Newman was eliminated at the beginning of the night.
Winokur won HOH, which allowed her to evict two people, in this case Gutiérrez and McGrath.
She defeated Matthews but he did win US$50,000 as the runner-up of the competition as well as another US$25,000 as America’s Favourite Houseguest.

At the end finale, the jury of all the previously eliminated houseguests were able to vote on whom they believed deserved the win.
Voting for Winokur were Gutiérrez, Newman, James Maslow, Shannon Elizabeth, Keshia Knight Pulliam and Chuck Liddell.
Voting for Matthews were McGrath, Brandi Glanville and Metta World Peace.

Some fans of Celebrity Big Brother were ecstatic about Winokur’s win.
