A number of parents in Pierrefonds have taken to social media to voice their concerns over a stretch of Pierrefonds Boulevard they say is dangerous, especially for children.
“Basically they do the American stop,” said Jessica Andreu, who walks her daughter to the bus stop.
“They stop for a second and just pass right away,” she added.
When Global News asked her about her daughter, she said “I basically walk with her because I’m terrified about her getting hit by a car.”
One potential problem she cites is that the intersection features stop signs instead of traffic lights.

Some parents fear the problem could get worse.
More than 150 residential units are set to be finished by summer of 2018 a block away from the intersection, which will make a rural part of the borough much more populated in a short amount of time.
“More traffic, more kids,” said Daniel Fortin, who lives near the intersection.
Borough Mayor Jim Beis told Global News the borough is looking into potential solutions to the traffic hazards in the area now that the election is over.
