Wendy Williams faints on live television

Talk show host Wendy Williams fainted on live television Tuesday, saying she overheated in her Halloween costume.

Wendy Williams gave her audience a shock during her Oct. 31 episode of The Wendy Williams Show.

During her live show, the 53-year-old host attempted to begin her “How You Doin'” segment by bringing out the Halloween costume winner.

“We do it every year. It’s always a lot of fun,” Williams began, as her words began to slur. “Let’s get started. Our first guest…” she said before pausing. She was visibly shaking before fainting and falling onto the floor.

The broadcast went black and producers quickly cut to commercial. Shortly after, Williams, who was dressed as the Statue of Liberty for Halloween, returned to the stage.

“That was not a stunt,” Williams said. “I overheated in my costume and I did pass out. But you know what? I’m a champ and I’m back!” She continued her broadcast and brought out the contest winners.

Before ending the episode, Williams asked the audience, “Is that the end of the show? Was I passed out that long?”

A rep for Williams told ET Canada that the host is feeling much better.

“Wendy is feeling much better. She overheated because of her heavy costume, makeup, and lights.  She was able to finish the show in true Wendy spirit. She will address the incident on tomorrow’s show.”

Viewers of the show took to Twitter to express their concern for Williams.
