A section of a busy arterial road in Kelowna has been temporarily shut down because of public safety concerns.
Since October 11th, Valley Road between Kane and Yates roads had been closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Sundays, because of construction work.
Brant’s Creek is being diverted to build a retaining wall, sidewalk and road improvements.
“However, construction has turned out to be more extensive than initially anticipated and a 24/7 road closure is necessary to protect public safety,” states an advisory from the city.

The work is expected to be finished by November 4th.
