Motorcycle clocked at 130 km/h, Nova Scotia driver charged with stunting

A 43-year-old man has had his license suspended for seven days and his motorcycle seized by Yarmouth Rural RCMP after a motorcycle was clocked at 130 km/h in a 70 km/h zone.

According to the Mounties, the motorcycle was recorded at that speed on Highway 3 in Pleasant Lake, N.S., shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Monday.

The driver was charged with stunting under the Provincial Motor Vehicle Act. If convicted, the fine for stunting is $2,422.50.

“Yarmouth Rural RCMP Detachment members are committed to improving the safety of our communities by taking a proactive approach to traffic enforcement,” said RCMP Detachment Commander Ben Parry in a press release.

“‎The members take pride in the communities where they live and work, and are dedicated to keeping their fellow residents safe from dangerous driving.”
