One man is in hospital and another in police custody following a serious assault in downtown Winnipeg Monday.
Winnipeg police were called to the 300 block of Ellice Avenue Oct. 2 with a report of a stabbing. They found a 19-year old man with upper body injuries. He was taken to hospital in stable condition.

Following a search of the area a suspect was taken into custody. Tyrone James Barkman, 21, of Garden Hill, Manitoba has been charged with multiple offences including assault with a weapon and breach of probation.
A second suspect is believed to have been involved in the assault in which the victim was both stabbed and kicked. Police continue to investigate.
