A 17-year-old boy is in hot water with Winnipeg police after he was found carrying a machete on a city transit bus.

Around 4:45 Sunday afternoon, members of the foot patrol unit saw the teen board the bus at the intersection of Main Street and Manitoba Avenue.

The 18-inch blade had been concealed in the left leg of his pants but the handle was sticking out of his waistband.

He was arrested and charged with possession and concealing of a dangerous weapon.
