Dozens of tires slashed in Stonebridge

Eight car owners in a Saskatoon neighbourhood woke up to find the tires slashed on their vehicles overnight.

Police received the call around 3:45 a.m. CT for a vehicle fire on the 200-block of Pringle Lane in the Stonebridge neighbourhood.

The fire was determined to be deliberately set beneath the vehicle, then police discovered the truck’s tires had also been slashed.

After further investigation, police found most of the other vehicles parked on the block also had slashed tires.

In total, 32 tires were damaged between eight vehicles, according to neighbours,

Brian Macnamara said he woke up to find his truck being extinguished by firefighters.

“Vandalism has been pretty bad in this area,” said Macnamara.

“A couple weeks ago, I did put a claim in already with SGI unfortunately. It looks to me like BB gun shots, all up the side of my truck, and down the back and other side of the truck,” he said.

“Then recently, the tires have been slashed, so there’s some major damage to my truck right now.”

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact Saskatoon police at 306-975-8300 to help locate those responsible.
