Saskatoon police Taser man resisting arrest

Saskatoon police said officers had to Taser a man late Tuesday evening who was resisting arrest.

Officers were investigating a disturbance call in the 600-block of Idylwyld Drive North when the man, who was a suspect, fled on foot.

Ground units gave chase and the air support unit helped officers locate the man.

Officers said the man then tried to resist arrest and they had to Taser him in order to take him into custody.

He was checked by paramedics.

The 48-year-old man is facing a number of charges including resisting arrest and possession of meth.

He was also wanted on four outstanding warrants.

The use of the Taser will be reviewed in accordance with Saskatoon Police Service policy.
