The White House has swiftly denied reports that President Donald Trump is rethinking ripping up American commitments pertaining to the Paris climate accord.
The Wall Street Journal reported Saturday afternoon that the turnaround came during a Montreal gathering of environment ministers and officials from 30 countries.

“The U.S. has stated that they will not renegotiate the Paris accord, but they will try to review the terms on which they could be engaged under this agreement,” the Journal cited Miguel Arias Cenete, the European Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy, as saying.
However, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders took to Twitter to deny the report.
Trump announced in June that he was withdrawing the U.S. from the agreement, which focuses on reducing global greenhouse gas emissions via voluntary targets.
At the time, he characterized his decision as symbolizing “a re-assertion of American sovereignty.”
