Four girls have been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle after trying to evade Saskatoon police.

A patrol officer spotted the driver of Ford Flex committing a traffic offence early Tuesday morning near 22nd Street West and Avenue W.

When the officer attempted to pull over the vehicle, the driver made several turns in an effort to elude police.

The driver then stopped suddenly on Avenue U North and four people fled on foot.

They were located a short time at a nearby home where they were trying to hide outside.

The four girls, 14 and 16, are scheduled to appear Wednesday morning in Saskatoon provincial court.

Police said the keys to the Ford Flex were found inside the vehicle.
