Saskatchewan RCMP are looking for an inmate who escaped from the Regina Provincial Correctional Centre, but they won’t say how he got out or give details about his sentence.

Mounties say in a news release that they were told at 3:30 p.m. on Monday that Ronald Turner had escaped.

They say it was decided, based on an initial investigation, that there’s no risk to public safety.

The RCMP are asking the public to help find Turner.

They say he may be in the Regina area, but that’s not confirmed.

Turner is described as being five-foot-seven-inches tall, weighing 155 pounds and as having green eyes and brown hair.

Police say people should not approach Turner if they see him.
