The racial tension that has been building in America for months now, exploded in Charlottesville, Va. this past weekend and it quickly turned into a showcase for hatred and bigotry.
White nationalists, neo-Nazis and KKK members descended on Charlottesville to, as former KKK leader David Duke stated, fulfill the promise of U.S. President Donald Trump and take their country back.

Clearly, these right-wing extremists see Trump as a champion for their racist ideals.
One of those neo-Nazis drove a car through a crowd of black anti-racist marchers, killing one person and seriously harming 19 others.
In a short, ambiguous statement on Saturday, Trump blamed ‘all sides’ for the clash and called for an end to violence.

Trump refused to condemn the actions of the KKK and other white extremists and failed to condemn the domestic terrorist action that led to one death and numerous injuries.
In fact, some Fox News hosts actually defended the actions of the racist factions, suggesting that ‘there was a reason, why they were in Charlottesville.’
In times of crisis, words matter.

Trump didn’t create racism, but his anti-Muslim, anti-Latino, ‘take the country back’ message has fanned the flames of racism and bigotry and emboldened the white supremacist movement.
Sadly, Trump is making America hate again!
