Emily Pomeranz’s final wish was for one more milkshake from her hometown diner. Her friend, and a Cleveland business, made it happen.
The 50-year-old woman, who was receiving treatment for pancreatic cancer in Washington, D.C., wanted a milkshake for her final wish, her friend Sam Klein wrote in a Facebook post.
“She said with a smile, ‘I wish I could have one more Tommy’s mocha milkshake,'” the post read.
Pomeranz couldn’t travel, so Klein made it his mission to get her a milkshake. He emailed Tommy’s Restaurant, and explained the situation to them.
The restaurant owner, Tommy Fello, was quickly on board.
“Yes. We will figure out a way to do this,” he emailed back, according to Klein.

A few days later, in her hospice bed, Pomeranz was handed the milkshake. Fello had packed and shipped her the drink through UPS.
“She was thrilled,” Klein wrote on Facebook.
Pomeranz died last week, four days after sipping her favourite milkshake.
Fello, who spoke to Fox 8 News in Cleveland, said this was the first time he’s had such a request.

“I wasn’t even sure if we’d be able to do it,” he told the network, explaining that he packed the milkshake with dry ice and paid $123 for expedited shipping.
Klein thanked Fello for his kindness in the Facebook post.
“So, my friends, if you are in Cleveland Heights, or anywhere near there, please stop in at Coventry, order one of those incredible milkshakes and ask for Tommy (he is the one cooking in the middle of the restaurant) and say, ‘This one is for Emily. Thank you for sending one to her.'”
