Edmonton man hospitalized after head-on collision

An E-350 Van collided with a semi-water truck before veering into the ditch. Boyle RCMP

One driver is in hospital and another shaken after a head-on crash on Highway 831 involving a semi water truck and E-350 van.

Around 4 p.m. Saturday, the van crossed the centre line of the highway, colliding with the semi-truck. The van veered into the ditch after the collision. The driver and lone occupant, a 26-year-old man from Edmonton, was pulled from the vehicle by emergency responders and flown to hospital via STARS with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The 74-year-old man from Boyle at the wheel of the semi was released from the scene with minor injuries.

An RCMP collision analyst attended the scene, with the investigation underway.
