For the second day in a row, First Lady Melania Trump didn’t hold her husband’s hand.
When coming off Air Force One in Rome on Tuesday U.S. President Donald Trump reached for her hand as they disembarked. But Melania moves her hand at the last moment, avoiding him and starting down the airplane stairs, in a moment that was captured by the waiting media.
It’s not clear she saw his hand but it’s the second time in recent days the pair haven’t succeeded in holding hands – in another moment caught on camera on Monday, Melania appeared to swat at Donald’s outstretched hand.

But despite any misgivings – all four of them held hands shortly after, as shown by Netanyahu’s Twitter account.
Trump’s hand holding has made news before too. He and Democratic rival Hilary Clinton refused to shake hands at the end of their debates, and Canadians scrutinized Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s handshake with the president for days after Trudeau visited the White House in February.
He also was photographed holding hands with British Prime Minister Theresa May during her visit to Washington D.C. in March, of which she said he was being a “gentleman,” before commenting on the size of his hands in an interview with Vanity Fair.
Trump was in Rome on his way to the Vatican, the third leg of his first international tour which included Israel and Saudi Arabia.
