Less than 24 hours after a deadly terror attack outside of the U.K. Parliament, most of London returned to business as usual – commuters piling into tube stations and tourists milling about the city’s most famous sites.

Speaking in Parliament Thursday, British Prime Minister Theresa May saluted the everyday actions of the British people for going about their days and getting on with their lives, adding that “millions of acts of normality” are the best response to terrorism.
Several tour companies seemed to take the prime minister’s words to heart, providing service to tourists still eager to see the world famous city, including London Duck Tours who said, “We very much take our lead from our Prime Minister, Theresa May’s statement last night where she said it will be business as normal today.”

Westminister Bridge, which reopened just 24 hours after the attack, was once again packed with pedestrians – some leaving tributes, others going about their daily business.
In several transit stations around the city commuters were met with tributes and messages of strength written on white boards where staff usually share a “thought of the day.”
At Tower Hill station, near the city’s Tower of London fortress, staff shared a quote that read, “The flower that blooms in adversity is the rarest and most beautiful of them all.” The message “London is open” was also written at the bottom.
Commuters at Oval Station were greeted with a sign that read, “You have to be at your strongest when you’re feeling at your weakest. Our condolences. Our City. Our Diversity. Our Strength.”
However, one of the most-shared and talked-about images, supposedly from a tube station, is fake.
The sign, which many have called the “most British sign ever,” reads, “All terrorists are politely reminded that THIS IS LONDON and whatever you do to us we will drink tea and jolly well carry on. Thank you.”
However, it appears the sign was created using a web app that allows users to put their own text on a London transit service information board.
