What started out as an assault call for Saskatoon police officers ended with a drug bust.
Officers were called to a home in the 100-block of Taylor Street early Tuesday morning for a report of an assault.

A man fled before officers arrived. He was later found at a home in the 2600-block of Melrose Avenue.

During the assault investigation, officers seized 175.8 grams of cocaine and a digital scale.
Members of the Saskatoon integrated drug enforcement street team (SIDEST) then searched the two homes.
Officers said they seized a total of 219.8 grams of cocaine, over $40,000 in cash, a .22-calibre pistol, a SKS semi-automatic rifle, ammunition, pepper spray and drug paraphernalia.

A 30-year-old man is facing charges for assault, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of fentanyl, possession of the proceeds of crime and possession of a dangerous weapon.
A 62-year-old man, who lives at the Taylor Street home, is facing 12 charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition and possession of the proceeds of crime.
