Mounties raid Kelowna residence; drugs and cash found

Kelowna RCMP have seized a considerable amount of drugs and cash from a downtown area residence.

The search warrant was executed Wednesday by the Street Enforcement Unit at an apartment in the 700 block of Leon Avenue.

The investigation began several days earlier when police were tipped off to a rental vehicle believed to be involved in drug sales in the downtown area.

“In total, RCMP seized in excess of 1 lb. of various forms of suspected cocaine, over 30 grams of crystal methamphetamine, over $15,000 in cash and equipment consistent with the sale of illicit drugs,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey in a news release.
