A Toronto family escaped injury following a massive four-alarm fire at a mansion in the affluent Bridle Path neighbourhood overnight.
The blaze broke out before midnight at a home on Park Lane Circle near Post Road just east of Bayview Avenue.
Toronto fire officials said a family was inside the residence but made it out safely.
“We have been able to control the majority of the fire although we had a lot of challenges. Very heavy winds, a lot of ice,” Interim Toronto Fire Chief Matthew Pegg said.

Global News has learned the home belonged to a member of the DeGasperis family.
Canadian Business Magazine cites the family’s net worth at $1.67 billion. Major company holdings include Condrain Group based in Vaughan, Ont., commercial and retail contractor Metrus and developer Aspen Ridge Homes.
A person who works at a private security firm for the neighbourhood told Global News the family is resting after their ordeal.
“The family’s okay. They’re trying to get some sleep right now,” Chris Webb from Avante Security said.
There’s no word yet on the cause of the fire but the home suffered extensive damage to the roof as well as the interior.
