RCMP investigate serious, head-on crash northeast of Edmonton

The RCMP said traffic on Highway 825 was being rerouted near Township Roads 554 and 560 Monday evening because of a serious head-on crash north of Fort Saskatchewan.

According to police, officers were called to the crash at around 5:45 p.m. They said the collision involved a pickup truck and a car. Of the four people inside the vehicles, Mounties said their injuries ranged from minor to serious.

A STARS Air Ambulance was called to the scene but police did not say if anybody was airlifted to hospital.

The RCMP asked drivers to avoid the area while collision analysts investigate what caused the crash.
