It was later discovered that the damage to the single vehicle was possibly caused by a localized explosion.

The investigation is now being led by the Surrey RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit with help from the Integrated Forensic Identification Service and the Explosive Disposal Unit. Police are still examining the vehicle and are looking for evidence at the scene. They will also be looking for surveillance video and any potential witnesses.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca.
