Five people are facing charges after Lethbridge police busted a suspected drug house located across the street from an elementary school.

Officers from the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) searched the home on Meadowlark Boulevard on Thursday. Police said 243 grams of crack cocaine, four Percocet pills and $6,323 in cash was found inside.

Four men were arrested, including:

  • Wayne Brown, 25, of Lethbridge
  • Abdual Kadir Salad, 20, of Calgary
  • Mohamed Yusuf Isse, 26, of Ottawa
  • Abdulghani Kalif Youse, 23, of Toronto

All four are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.

Officers also searched another home in the 1300 block of 7 Street, at which time police said 12 grams of cocaine was located.

A 22-year-old woman was inside the home, along with a two-year-old child.

Police have charged the woman with possession of a controlled substance and charges under the drug-endangered children’s act. Her name is not being released to protect the identity of the child.

According to investigators, the drugs seized have an estimated street value of over $25,000.
