Kelowna Rockets pound Royals

The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Victoria Royals 5-1 in Victoria on Sunday night.

The Rockets scored early and often as they collected four first period goals to cruise to the victory.

Kelowna added one second period marker to cap their scoring on the night.

Rockets goals were scored by Leif Mattson (first career WHL goal), Rodney Southam (2), Kole Lind scored his team leading 11th, as well as Nolan Foote.

Michael Herringer improved to 11-7-0-0 on the season stopping 25-of-26 shots he faced as the Rockets outshot Victoria 32-26 and improved to 13-10-0-0.

Kelowna is back in action on Tuesday night in Victoria for their second of two on Vancouver Island.

The Rockets next home game is Saturday November 26th vs. the Regina Pats.
