After further investigation, they’re now treating his death as Montreal’s 21st homicide.
A 17-year-old boy is dead after an attempted armed robbery in Côte-Saint-Luc Thursday evening.
Police said the teen and a 15-year-old accomplice approached a woman at around 7:45 p.m. on Westminster Avenue, near Westover Road, and attempted to rob her.
Montreal police spokesperson Danny Lacoursière said at some point during the robbery a scuffle ensued between the 17-year-old and the victim.

“The 17-year-old fell to the ground and hit his head,” Lacoursière said.
The teen was rushed to hospital where he later died of his injuries.
The other boy was arrested near the crime scene and is being detained for questioning.
The woman was not injured during the altercation.
