However, on Friday police said witnesses came forward with more information and police changed their theory of what happened.

According to Montreal police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant, police no longer believe there was a robbery attempt, and now believe the teen was murdered.

Police were able to access footage from nearby security cameras, which gave them a different angle of the altercation, according to Brabant.

Police said the accused was arrested Friday night.

The suspect is detained.

The case is now in the hands of prosecutors.
