WATCH ABOVE: One person is dead following a five vehicle crash on the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 in Mississauga on Sunday Evening – Nov 13, 2016

A 27-year-old Milton man was killed and 14 others were injured after a multi-vehicle crash in Mississauga Sunday.

The OPP told Global News officers were called to the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 near Winston Churchill Boulevard at around 5:30 p.m. over reports of a collision.

Peel Paramedics said six or seven ambulances took patients to hospital from the scene. OPP said of those 14 injured, 13 were minor and the other was serious.

Police closed a section of the highway near the crash for several hours but was reopened at 11:30 p.m.
