Thousands expected at Remembrance Day services in Saskatoon

It’s a day set aside to allow people around Canada to pause and reflect on the sacrifice made by those who have served their country.

Thousands are expected to be in attendance at SaskTel Centre for Saskatoon’s Remembrance Day service.

Doors open at 9 a.m. local time. The grand march starts at 10:25 p.m. with a moment of silence at 11 a.m.

Global News will be live streaming the service starting at 10:25 a.m.

A ceremony will also be taking place at Montgomery Park at 11 a.m.

The Nutana Legion on Louise Street will be hosting a number of events starting at 1 p.m., including a performance by the 96th Highlanders Pipes and Drums.

A wreath-laying ceremony will take place at the Memorial Gates on the University of Saskatchewan campus at 1:30 p.m.

The Saskatoon Chamber Singers will be performing at Knox United Church at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., as they remember those who served through music.
