You can track live election results on your TV, phone or laptop, but if you’re living in New York, just look up: part of the Empire State Building has been turned into a 32-storey screen showcasing results in real time for Election Night.
The breathtaking display is bringing together live election coverage along with social media reaction and photography from voters on the ground Tuesday night, its creators say.

It was put together by Obscura Digital, CNN, Instagram, CA Technologies and the Empire State Building’s management to “commemorate this historic election.” They’re calling the collaboration one part news delivering and one part art project built on crowd-sourced content.
“The projections will continue throughout the night, and will ultimately unveil the 45th president of the United States,” CNN explained. The face of one of the presidential hopefuls will cover the building by the end of the night.

Before that, a countdown clock will broadcast the closing of polls across the country.
The creators of the project are asking U.S. voters to share photos and election projections with the hashtag #MyVote. Social media posts could be posted on the iconic New York skyscraper, featured at the Newseum in Washington or on the Miracle Mile in Las Vegas.
