For its first post-election episode, Saturday Night Live is pulling out all the stops, bringing comedian Dave Chappelle to its mic for the first time.
Chappelle, 43, is set to host on Nov. 12, and will be joined by hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest. The hip-hop group is about to release its first album in 18 years.

The American funnyman was a big deal in 2003, when he headlined his own Comedy Central sketch series, Chappelle’s Show. He left the show — and the network — early into its third season, and the show ceased production in 2005.
At the time of his departure, there were rumours that Chappelle and the network had creative differences, and even stories that the comedian had “gone crazy” and fled to Africa.
The truth is Chappelle wanted to start and raise a family with his wife.

“I never stopped being onstage. What I did was step off of the main stage,” he told People magazine after a series of performances at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall in June 2014. “That kind of attention wouldn’t have been conducive to raising a family.”
Chappelle recently completed his 2016 stand-up tour of North America, ending in New York City on Oct. 26.
Chappelle has appeared in movies like The Nutty Professor, Con Air and Blue Streak.
