Montrealers looking for a pre-Halloween scare gathered at Hotel Ruby Foo’s on Sunday, for the first annual ‘Monstreal Horror-thon.’
The event was a chance for lovers of horror films to geek out over their favourite characters.
Horror-thon was also a chance to show off some cosplay as some created their own Halloween costumes.

Those who attended also got a chance to pick up new Halloween masks, posters, movies and paraphernalia from their favourite fictional characters.
Next year, organizer Robert Porco, is promising the event will be even bigger and he hopes to bring in A-list movie stars.
“I wanted to do just a horror convention and I was tired of doing conventions that cost a lot of money,” Porco said. “I decided to take the genre of horror and put it all together.”
But this time around, organizers were happy just getting the event off the ground.
