Grizzly bear eating moose caught on camera

The Standstills are a rock band, but it’s a grizzly bear that is stealing the show.

The Standstills were recently in Kelowna opening for Our Lady Peace at Prospera Place.

On their way from Kelowna to Grand Prairie, Alberta the band caught something on film that is generating a lot of buzz on Facebook.

While driving through Jasper National Park, they videotaped a grizzly bear eating the carcass of a moose along the edge of the highway.

“You could see this all the way from the top of the hill, we couldn’t figure out what it was,” one band member on the video says as they approach the grizzly on the snowy highway. “It’s a grizzly eating a moose,” she says.

“This is what you get to see when you tour Canada,” another band member says.

The grizzly, no more than 20 metres from the edge of the highway, stops eating the carcass and looks at the vehicle but shows no signs of aggression while being videotaped.

“He don’t look too happy,” a band member says before driving away.

The video has generated more than 375,000 views on the Standstills’ Facebook page.
