“There have been in excess of 100 calls into Kelowna Fire Dispatch as well as into B.C. Forestry,” says KFD Platoon Captain, Lawrence Serres.

“With the wet and cool weather we have been experiencing there should be no cause for alarm.”

Serres says is asking the public not to call dispatch because the volume of calls is interfering with normal operations.

The fire ban in the Central Okanagan was lifted Monday.
