Man attempts to evade Prince Albert, Sask. police

An Arborfield, Sask., man is facing charges after attempting to evade Prince Albert police early Saturday morning.

Police said patrol officers attempted pull over a vehicle at around 1 a.m. CT for a Traffic Safety Act investigation.

Officers said vehicle was being driven erratically and disobey traffic signs and lights after the driver refused to stop.

A stop stick was deployed, which police said damaged the front tires and brought the vehicle to a stop.

The driver then fled on foot.

Police dog Febee helped officers at the scene track down a man in the 1000-block of 7th Street East where he was arrested.

The 40-year-old man is facing charges of evading police, operating a vehicle in a manner dangerous to the public, operating a vehicle while disqualified, resisting arrest and breach of a conditional sentence order.

He will appear on Tuesday in Prince Albert provincial court.
