Injured Winnipeg Blue Bombers to return for weekend match-up vs BC Lions
WINNIPEG – Andrew Harris will play his first game in nearly a month on Saturday as his Winnipeg Blue Bombers host the BC Lions at Investors Group Field.
The Winnipegger will start at running back ahead of Timothy Flanders in the matinee match. Harris has missed the last three games with an ankle injury. He was hurt in the second quarter of the Bombers’ Banjo Bowl victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders on September 10.
In 11 games this season, Harris has racked up a team-leading 677 rushing yards off 149 carries. He has also scored four touchdowns.
Quincy McDuffie will also check out of the infirmary for the Week 16 West Division match-up. The receiver/kick returner has sat out the last two games with an upper-body injury.
Injured linebacker Ian Wild is listed on Winnipeg’s lineup but will be scratched prior to kick-off. Tony Burnett will start in Wild’s place.
The Bombers have made three changes to their 46-man roster for the game. Recently signed receiver Tori Gurley comes in but isn’t expected to play.
Meanwhile, halfback TJ Heath will make his first start as a Blue Bomber. He replaces Bruce Johnson who was suspended for two games on Friday for breaking the CFL/CFLPA drug policy.
Defensive backs Julian Posey and Justin Warden also come into the lineup. Running back Pascal Lochard has been placed on the six-game injured list. Defensive lineman Brandon Tennant moves to the practice roster.
