A recently posted video showing aerial footage of Fredericton is attracting a lot of attention for one young entrepreneur.
Michael Stemm recently graduated from university with a degree in business, but the path he’s taking to his career is far from an ordinary one.
The young man is now touring around the Maritimes with his drone in tow, creating stunning videos and impressing viewers and companies alike with his talent.
“I was just doing it all as a hobby and then people started asking me to do videos for them,” Stemm explained of how he got started. “I ended up upgrading all my equipment and getting a new drone… and then I just fell in love.”
“It started out as a hobby for me so doing the work is pretty much fun for me,” he said.
His tribute to Fredericton came after weeks of collecting visuals from hundreds of metres above the capital city.
Once he’d found the perfect song to lay under the images, the sharp editing was complete in just a few days.
“I didn’t get paid at all for this Fredericton video but it’s a great way to get my name out there,” Stemm explains. “It’s a way for me to advertise myself, get me out there, get me more jobs.”
Some of his previous work has already done just that.
Stemm just recently wrapped a commercial for the Atlantic Lottery Corporation and believes his next project will help to bolster his growing portfolio.
“I always wanted to be my own boss,” Stemm said.
