Man charged with attempted murder in West Kelowna shooting

A 29-year-old Okanagan man, accused in connection with an early morning shooting in West Kelowna in August, is facing another charge. On Monday, Tyrone Reynolds McGee was charged with attempted murder in association with a criminal organization at the Kelowna Law Courts.

McGee, of West Kelowna, already faces several firearms charges in relation to the incident on Hudson Road at Westlake Road on August 2nd.

RCMP alleged McGee was on a bicycle when he shot at the driver of a car at the intersection which is not far from Highway 97.

Police said McGee met up with the driver of the car, then pulled out a gun before firing several shots.

The driver left the scene, hitting McGee before smashing into a utility pole. The driver was seriously injured.

RCMP said crystal meth was found at the scene.

McGee’s next court appearance is scheduled for October 3rd.
