Police said the death of an elderly man whose body was found in a home near 137 Avenue and 65 Street Friday morning was not criminal in nature.
The Edmonton Police Service said two brothers – both in their 70s – lived in the house. One went to a medical centre at around 6:15 a.m. asking for someone to come to the home to help, according to police.
When officers arrived, they found a deceased man on the floor. They said there was trauma to his body but they don’t know what caused it yet.
Police said the other man is co-operating and he is not under arrest. There was no sign of an argument between the two men, police said. The brother who reported the incident was not injured.
An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 20. The final cause of death won’t be determined until toxicology results are complete.
The EPS had concluded its investigation into the matter and no charges are being considered.
