Chainsaw carving challenge makes its way to Manitoba

WINNIPEG — The second annual Chainsaw Carving Challenge hosted by 4P takes place labour day long weekend.

Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Canada’s best chainsaw carvers will come together at Powerview Pine Falls. HGTV’s Carver Kings are expected to compete in the challenge.

Also in attendance will be Mike Winia, who represented Canada at the World Cup in Germany and other Champions from events throughout Canada.

The 2-day event will also have one of Manitoba’s top chainshaw carvers, Jim Niedermayer. The event also included a 2-hour pro am quick carve Saturday afternoon, where the up and coming carvers had a shot at winning a spot in next years’ main event with the pros.

A live auction is set for Sunday.
