A fire that broke out in the hills above Peachland on Friday afternoon is now 90 per cent contained.
The fire grew to two hectares while crews were trying to get a handle on it.
The Peachland Fire Department responded first and battled the blaze until B.C. Wildfire Service crews could get to the scene.
Air tankers dropped retardant around the perimeter while a helicopter and four skimmers doused hot spots.

The fire is now mostly displaying rank one behaviour, which means it is a smoldering ground fire.
Firefighters say it was a good thing that there was a fire hydrant nearby.

They expect to have the fire fully contained by morning.
“Right now we’re putting a hand line around the fire and going in behind that with a hose to mop up and contain some hot spots,” fire crew leader Phil Garber said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
