2 dead after head-on crash in central Alberta Friday

RCMP are investigating after two people died following a head-on crash between two vehicles on Highway 12 between Erskine and Stettler Friday afternoon.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the crash scene just before 2 p.m. and determined the driver of one vehicle had already died when they arrived. They said the passenger in the same vehicle died shortly after.

The driver of the other vehicle had no passengers and was taken to Stettler Hospital with minor injuries.

RCMP continue to investigate what caused the crash but say alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors.
