Taber Cornfest 2016 started with an hour-long parade Friday. It may have rained, but it didn’t seem to dampen any spirits.

Organizers say it’s the largest free family festival in western Canada. Over Friday and Saturday, folks can enjoy the corn-stuffing contest, the corn-eating contest and the corn-tasting competition.

Obviously corn is king, but it’s not just about what’s on the cob. People can also enjoy a “Show and Shine” and the midway along with watching performances on the brand new stage.

If you’re wanting to find out what’s happening during Cornfest, they have a new app that you can download on your phone listing all the events.

You can also play the virtual game in the app, which is like Pokemon GO! but with corn.
