Edmonton would make things interesting with 20 consecutive points, but the Saskatoon Hilltops were able to hang on for a 35-20 win over the Huskies.
The Hilltops wasted no time getting to work at Clarke Stadium in Edmonton. Quarterback Jared Andreychuck threw to Ryan Turple for a 35-yard gain in a drive that would end in a Saskatoon touchdown.

Saskatoon caught a lucky break later when defensive lineman Hayward Beasley hauled down Andreycuck, but the Huskies were flagged for a facemask to keep the Hilltops drive alive.
The Toppers took advantage of the penalty. Running back Logan Fischer punched it in for his second touchdown of the quarter, making it 14-0.
Saskatoon kept pouring it on as Andreychuck faked a handoff and lobbed it end zone to lineman Tom Schnitzler, who came up with the catch.
Edmonton came alive in the second quarter with the score 21-0 for the Toppers. Huskies quarterback Brad Launhardt fired it over the middle for Darion Grymaloski who made a nice grab.
It wasn’t enough as the reigning Canadian Bowl champions improved to 2-0 this season.
The Hilltops are back in action on Aug. 28 when they host the Calgary Colts at SMF Field in Saskatoon.
