John Stamos revealed some sad news on Instagram on Wednesday, announcing that his German Shepherd named Linka passed away.

The 52-year-old actor often filled his social media feed with photos of the pup and added one other in honour of her death.

“She was always there, especially in the dark times,” Stamos wrote in the caption of the photo with Linka and himself. “Never judging. By my side. Only loyal. #rip Linka.”

The former Full House star has previously joked about the importance of maintaining Linka’s privacy with Us Weekly in 2014.

“I have a dog that I love a lot but I don’t talk about her publicly. She’s very sensitive when it comes to press.”

Stamos adopted another dog, Freida, more recently and has the support of that adorable pup at this time.

The show’s second season will unfold in a hospital owned by the villainous character, Dean Munsch, played by Jamie Lee Curtis.

Stamos, who once starred on ER, joked that Munsch hired his surgeon character because she “saw my layout in Playgirl, the 10 Hottest Doctors, so that’s how I got it.”

Scream Queens’ upcoming second season will air on Fox Sept. 20.
