Contrary to social media belief, Adele has not signed on to perform at the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show.
Rumours of the possible performance were sparked last week when The Sun‘s Dan Wootton revealed halftime organizers were trying to court the English artist.
“There is nobody bigger in the world than Adele right now and organizers are doing absolutely everything they can to try and persuade her to sign up,” a NFL source said. “She’s sold out every date on her tour, everyone wants a piece of her and they know they can bank on her bringing the viewers.”

Though they didn’t deny said “courting,” the NFL and Pepsi (the halftime show sponsor) have officially come out to say they have not made an official offer to the artist.
“The NFL and Pepsi are big fans of Adele. We have had conversations with several artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, we have not at this point extended a formal offer to Adele or anyone else. We are focused on putting together a fantastic show for Houston and we look forward to revealing that in good time,” the companies said in a joint statement.
Coordinators of the halftime show are expected to announce the show’s performer in the fall.
For her part, Adele told a crowd of her fans in L.A. that she’s not really interested in performing at the big NFL event.
“I mean, come on, that show is not about music… And I don’t really – I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I said no.”
The Super Bowl Speculation was tied to another major rumour: that the 25 songstress is pregnant with her second child. Those “facts” started circulating on social media over the weekend; Adele quickly shut them down and blamed herself for starting the gossip.

According to the 28-year-old, one of her favourite ways to stand while performing is to rest her hand on her stomach.
“I keep patting my stomach like I’m pregnant,” she said to her audience at the Staples Center Saturday. “I know I’m not Beyoncé. I’m not dancing or anything like that but it’s a bit grueling. I can’t be pregnant and travel this much.”
The Skyfall performer and her husband Simon Konecki welcomed their first baby, a son named Angelo James Konecki, back in October 2012.
The Grammy Award-winner is currently on the North American leg of her Adele Live 2016 world tour.
