Hot steam was applied throughout the apartment unit of the Lewandowska family Friday afternoon.
A daughter, mother and grandmother have been living with bed bugs in their low-income home on St-Ambroise Street for almost two months.
They’re just hoping the work of the exterminator will be enough to eradicate the blood-sucking insects once and for all.
“It was really hard living because every night they would bite my mom or me,” eight-year-old Dalia Lewandowska told Global News.

The Lewandowska family has been fighting city officials to get the job done as quickly as possible.
Officials with Montreal’s low-income housing board told Global News there are nine other units in the same building that have been infested and treated.
Sixteen more were treated as a preventative measure.
