A 22-year-old man is wanted for attempted murder after two people were shot in Toronto’s busy Yonge-Dundas Square over the weekend.

Toronto police said the shooter was involved in a verbal confrontation with another man at the southeast corner of Yonge Street and Dundas Street on July 31 at 1:20 a.m. when four rounds were fired.

Investigators said another bullet hit a second man standing in the area. Both men shot were treated in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the suspect, identified as Alfredo Blass, fled the area along with another group.

The suspect is described as 5’9″ tall, 160 lbs., medium complexion and with a tattoo of “Yoanis” on his left upper arm.

He is wanted for a number of charges including two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, discharge firearm being reckless and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Police said Blass is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
