Quebec City high school student, Alexander Ouellet, has a mission to inspire others to succeed and be happy.
“In class, especially, people are negative. They swear a lot, they cuss a lot,” he told Global News.
“I see them and I feel like I can do something for them.”
The 15-year-old from Quebec City started the Super Student Program, a website and YouTube channel, to motivate his peers – and his teachers – to strive for success.
He created the website after struggling himself to learn to think positively.
“I had gone through a tough time in my life. I had been bullied for eight years, put down,” he said.

“The psychological effect of it, I had a lot of suicidal thinking.”
Ouellet realized he needed help.
“I told my father about it, which most students don’t do,” he said.
“I highly recommend you do it. Parents are there to support you. They’re not going to say, ‘What the hell’s wrong with you?'”
Ouellet has Celiac disease, which makes him look younger than he is; he’s also a self-described chatterbox – two things that used to contribute to the bullying.
“I would talk a lot and a lot of people would tell me to shut up,” he said.
Now, Ouellet is using his gift of the gab to produce high quality motivational videos.
His first video got 5,000 views.
Ouellet is currently writing a book and hopes to turn this into a career.
“I’d like to be able to impact 200 million people. I know that’s a humongous number. Some people might laugh at that, but that’s the goal I’m striving for.”
