Propane leak at Saskatoon Co-op gas bar forces evacuation

A propane leak forced an evacuation of the Co-op gas bar at Preston Crossing on Thursday evening.

Just before 7 p.m. CT, Saskatoon firefighters were called to the gas station where they found propane leaking from the connection to a tank being filled.

Fire crews evacuated the area to establish a safe zone, ensuring the emergency shut off had been activated and there was no source of ignition possible.

While the leak was minor, safety precautions were established to ensure no damage or injuries occurred.
