The mother of Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson’s girlfriend is facing a death sentence in China.
According to Chinese media reports, pop star Wanting Qu’s mother has been charged with three counts of corruption and abuse of power.
The charges allegedly stem from an elaborate real estate scam involving nearly $70 million.
Her trial was held last week and no date has been set for a verdict.
Prosecutors are reportedly seeking the death penalty.
